Air-cooled chillers are refrigeration systems that dissipate heat using ambient air. Their primary function is to provide circulating chilled water (typically 5–15°C) for industrial equipment (e.g., injection molding machines, laser cutters) and commercial buildings (e.g., central air conditioning, data center cooling).

Working Principle Diagram
The operating principle follows a refrigerant cycle: the compressor pressurizes and heats gaseous refrigerant, which then flows to an air-cooled condenser where fans force air across finned coils, releasing heat and liquefying the refrigerant. This liquid passes through an expansion valve, reducing its pressure and temperature before entering the evaporator. There, it absorbs heat from circulating water, evaporating back into gas while chilling the water. The gaseous refrigerant returns to the compressor, completing a closed-loop cycle. Their key advantage lies in **eliminating the need for cooling towers and water treatment systems, enabling compact installation and simplified maintenance—particularly suited for water-scarce or space-constrained locations.
